Dear Supporters and Friends,

We just celebrated our 43rd anniversary! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has welcomed families from all the Great Lake States and many others across the country. Families have traveled by plane, train, and automobile to vacation at this unique facility.

This facility hosts families who have children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. We offer all our families a free vacation, giving them a reprieve from their heartbreaking health challenges and allowing them to enjoy time together without financial burdens.

Last year, we literally started with a bang. Casey Whitiker, who was studying to earn his pastoral ministry credits in Pensacola, Florida, got the surprise of his life. He was hired as a temporary house manager for the summer. He had only spent one night in his new apartment when an explosion occurred. Rick Konwinski, our maintenance employee, was lighting a faulty water heater when the explosion happened. Casey walked Rick out of the burning apartment, engulfed in flames.

The fire department and medical team responded quickly and airlifted Rick to the burn unit in Grand Rapids, MI. He spent four weeks there receiving intensive burn treatments. The power of prayer sustained us. We have a faithful God. It was nothing short of a miracle that Rick survived this terrible explosion.

Shortly after the explosion in the house manager’s apartment, we had another incident in the same building—this time a major water leak caused by another faulty water heater. Water was pouring from the ceilings, but thankfully, the issue has been resolved.

In August 2024, Rose Marie Fischer—grandmother to Mary Catherine Fischer, one of the first supporters of Little Mary’s—passed away and went to heaven. When asked, “What is the purpose of life?” she would respond, “Save your soul to get to Heaven. Bring family along—and friends too.” Her memorial donations were given to Little Mary’s Hospitality House.

This summer, over fifty families are scheduled to vacation at Little Mary’s. We are still waiting for the insurance company and the builders to come to an agreement on the repairs from the explosion.

On a positive note, the trillions of leaves have been raked up, the fresh paint on the three fire escape levels is finished, and the flowers are in bloom!

We are pressing forward with our ministry. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support. With the help of friends like you, we will continue to create lasting memories and rays of hope for all who visit Little Mary’s Hospitality House.

Blessings are abundant because God continues to provide and teach us to trust Him.
